The Saltus Group edits a book, that shall be published 2022, and comprises 28 chapters written by participants of the virtual conference “Global Perspectives on Responsible AI”. It will be available here.
AI-Trust is a project in the program “Verantwortliche Künstliche Intelligenz” (“Responsible Artificial Intelligence”) of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Foundation (Baden-Wuerttemberg Stiftung).
The Neuroethics and AI Ethics Lab performs innovative research at the frontier of ethical, legal and social aspects of new and emerging sciences and technologies at the intersection of neuroscience, neurology, artificial intelligence and neurotechnology.
Together with colleagues from neuroscience, computer science, ethics, philosophy, law and other fields we work on developing guidelines and governance frameworks for the responsible collection, aggregation and use of brain data, particularly regarding data from consumer neurotechnology devices and applications.
We will conduct phenomenological interviews with patients that are or have been treated with neurotechnological devices, for example with deep brain stimulation (DBS) for neurological or psychiatric disorders or brain-computer interfaces for communication or other assistance.
Together with our colleague and FRIAS Research Fellow (2019-2020) Shelly Levy-Tzedek, head of the Cognition, Aging and Rehabilitation Lab at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, we explore fundamental philosophical concepts as well as ethical, legal and social aspects of human-robot interaction and cooperation, such as trust, agency and autonomy.
The overarching goal of DaDuHealth is to develop recommendations for the regulation of the access to and the use of health-related data. To do so, DaDuHealth analyses legal and ethical-conceptual framework conditions of data use.
Outreach and knowledge transfer are central aspects of our work on Responsible AI. To this end we collaborate with the Public Outreach and Science Communication Project Nexus Experiments (led by Prof. Oliver Müller from our team) at the University of Freiburg
